The Story
"Khobie Martin has really taken a step." — Curt Cignetti, Indiana Head Coach
Khobie grew up just up the road in Fishers, Indiana, where he ran for 2,746 yards and 38 touchdowns across three varsity seasons — including a 1,379-yard, 19-touchdown senior year that made him a three-star, top-100 national running back recruit.
He arrived at Indiana in 2024 and spent his first season learning behind a deep, veteran backfield. Nobody had him penciled in as a difference-maker for 2025 — he opened the year fourth on the running back depth chart. Then the room in front of him thinned out, and Khobie did what he's always done: he made the most of every rep he got.
He broke 100 yards twice — ripping off 109 yards and two scores against Indiana State, then answering with 107 yards and two more touchdowns against Illinois a week later. By season's end he'd turned 78 carries into 505 yards and six touchdowns, at a blistering 6.5 yards a carry, and helped Indiana finish 16-0 as College Football Playoff national champions.
Now heading into 2026, PFF has him ranked as the No. 3 returning running back in the entire Big Ten — and he's ready for a much bigger role in Bloomington.
